Contribuiți la feedbackLocated inside Atwater market, this café offers a nice selection of tea and coffee. However, we were disappointed with the cakes we ordered. While they looked great, they lacked the lightness we were hoping for. The café was very busy, indicating that it must be popular among locals.
This bakery has several venues, and we went to the Atwater Market at the top level. There is a wide selection of breads and pastries, as well as wonderful coffee and grilled sandwiches. This is a good place to stop for a lunch break, and... much more relaxed than the food dish below.
I visit Première Moisson regularly. It is a really nice morning destination especially this one located in the Atwater market. If you happen to be visiting Montreal and stay in the Grifintown area then I highly recommend you take an early morning walk alongside the...Lachine Canal heading towards the Atwater Market. The experience starts there and then is augmented with the early morning pastries and bread offered at Premiere Moission. It is an immersion in the local experience with some of the best Croissants, morning ham and cheese sandwiches (made to your taste) and of course a unique selection of bread covering every possible taste. The place has a seating area indoors but does not offer a great experience, so I recommend you take your order and go sit on one of the benches along the canal and just enjoy a perfect morning with a perfect breakfast experience I recommend you take one of their set menus (Sandwich and coffee) and add a croissant (The chocolate ones are insanely good, and the almonds one are out of this world). For the sandwich, Premiere Moisson produce their own white ham and it is quite renowned in Quebec. So My recommendation is a swiss cheese sandwich on baguette bread with their white cheese. You will thank me for that for sure Prices are quite reasonable and I am sure when you look at the way they present bread and the various pastries, you will be coming out of there with plenty of other items. The scent of morning bake is just too good to resist. I also recommend you spend some time in the Atwater market. Shops over there offer some of the best culinary experiences reflective of the local Montreal and Quebec culture. This place is highly recommended Please like this review if you find it helpful. Visiting Montreal on a girls trip, we popped into Marché Atwater to look around and grab some lunch on a wintery day. Premier Moisson is the main place to sit and have a bite (no table service btw) at this mouth watering market that boasts...vendors of all types of food, condiments, teas, and coffee for purchase. Premier Moisson has a wide variety of prepared meals focused on lunch fare of sandwiches, soup, salads, fresh bread and desserts. I had a melted cheese sandwich with sun-dried tomato, arugula, and ham on fresh baked crusty bread together with a delicious puréed squash soup. I could only finish half of my lunch in order to save room for a pastry. I’m so glad I did, as I savored one of the best sweet treats of my life — a petit cake of passion fruit and chocolate garnished with fresh raspberry. Superb!! I bought a gift wrapped selection of macarons in chocolate/butterscotch, pistachio, citrus/coconut and more. For home I got a couple loaves of bread— an olive and a walnut variety, both wonderful. When it comes to good food, sometimes the simple pleasures are the best. So it is with Premier Moisson.
This place is the busiest vendor in Atwater market hands down. Lines were at least 20+ deep. Some tips. 1. They have 3 separate lines. One for breads (which usually wraps around the dessert counter so be sure to ask if that's the correct line...your waiting on). One for the dessert counter (middle of the store) , there's a ticket machine on the wall across the counter, press the button for a ticket and they will call your number. And another line on the left of the store for pannies and such. Lines can be long here, but the displays are beautiful. Baked breads were amazing!!!
