I was in the area for a quick business dinner and there weren't many great restaurant options available. We decided to go to Pacini. It had been about 20 years since I had last eaten at this restaurant chain, and I was impressed with the modernized decor. The waitress was very attractive and there was a bread bar that I opted not to try, as I didn't like the idea of everyone touching the bread. The food was average - I had an Italian salad with minestrone soup that tasted like it came from a can. Despite the casual menu, it was still an Italian restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere.
Pacini is located on the sacred grounds of the iconic Tic Toc Tavern, in fact in operation on the website for a good long time. In the past, when I was in the area to visit my parents, it never really... seemed to me to eat as a place. Basically, I rejected it as a low end chain of this kind. Yesterday, my father and I have breakfast there and I have to say that I was positively impressed. The interior decor is very carried out in warm colors that call southern Italy. The tables and seats are also very nice and comfortable. We had all the eggs. I'm finicky about my balls, but they were done as I demanded. Home Fries were excellent and I am also finicky about these). Service was fast and attentive. The menu even had English, although in very small print. One side is that it does not seem to bring a separate wine restaurant, although I have observed some peculiarities for beer and wine, I think I will give it a try for dinner.
During our first few hours in Montreal, we stumbled upon this restaurant near our hotel. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.
After living in Italy for more than twenty years, my expectations for Italian restaurants outside of Italy are low. This restaurant met my expectations. The ambiance is pleasant, the wait staff is friendly, and the service is quick. The food, however, is average. It's not terrible, just not exceptional enough to excite me. Surprisingly, the wine selection is limited to just two red wines: an Italian Chianti Classico and a Californian Cabernet. We opted for the Cabernet, which paired well with the decent but not outstanding food. If you're looking for a decent meal in a nice setting, this restaurant is worth a visit. But if you want to impress someone with excellent food, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
