Les hôtes Suzanne et Ian sont A-do-ra-bles et feront tout ce qui est humainement possible pour vous satisfaire. N'oubliez pas de faire le plein de bouquets de fleurs séchées et de délices du terroir dont les magrets de canards!
One of the most original places around Ottawa. Take a nice drive on a Sunday morning and go to Eastern Ontario for lunch. Great atmosphere, best duck around and the place has so much character. Not sure what's the wine situation anymore so call before and of course you'll want to reserve as you don't want to drive there to find out they are full, which could very well be the case. Sunday lunch only last time I checked/went.
Went for a brunch with my wife, son and daughter in law and the restaurant met and exceeded every expectation. A warm friendly restaurant and the menu changes every Sunday so it makes things an adventure. Although a bit pricey it is worth every penny.
The most amazing food in the most amazing environment! The pavilion has a wonderful, rustic charm and a come-as-you-are attitude but the food is as incredible as any you'd have in the fanciest, white-gloved restaurant. Chef Matthew uses meat and produce grown at the farm with love and care by owners, Ian & Suzanne (themselves a charming and welcoming couple), and creates some of the best food I have ever eaten - and my partner is a fantastic chef in his own right, so that's saying a lot.I can not recommend this place highly enough - Go! as soon as you can. You won't regret it and you'll have the peace of mind that you're supporting your local farmers at the same time - that's a win-win for sure!
We were there with a group of 16 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We had three choices of starters and I had the tomato salad. I did not taste the basil that they said it had and I thought the dressing could use a little punch. My husband had the foie gras and it was delicious. There was a compote served with it and it was divine. The other choice was a soup. For our main courses we both had the duck confit and it melted in your mouth. It was so tender and also a little crispy. Very enjoyable. The other choices were a pasta with some kind of meat in it and also a pork dish. Everyone enjoyed their choices. For dessert there was a cheese plate and a fruit crisp with ice cream. Both were good. You serve yourself for coffee and tea. Another bonus is being able to bring your own wine. The service was excellent and friendly. We paid $45.00 each plus tax and tip.
