L'Arrivage Restaurant - Montréal

The view from the windows of this elegant restaurant is very appealing, with Expo 67's Habitat dominating the skyline. The meals we had were less impressive. My express combo featured an adequate soup and a barely adequate roast beef sandwich. My wife's tilapia was also okay but nothing special.

We ate on the balcony on a sunny and pleasant day. The menu was attractive and the service was very good.

This bright room is set over in the Pointe-à Callière Museum in Old Montreal, overlooking the harbour. Open for lunch only and typical restaurant found in a museum : light but elegant fare with delicious soups and cheerful Miro inspired desserts, great service and noisy crowd. I just love to sip a glass of white wine there overlooking the waterfront.

L'Arrivage, is a restaurant located on the second floor of the Pointe à Callière Museum in Old Montreal, with views overlooking the old town and the port. Unlike other cafeteria style museum restaurants, it is an elegant yet accessible location, appropriate for a business lunch or friendly brunch. The occasion for my visit was a welcome brunch for an out of town friend. Since we were a larger group (12 people), we were offered a table d'hôte menu which consisted of three courses. The first was either a soup or salad. I chose the green salad with endive, mesclun, almond and mandarin topped with a sweet and tart dressing. Among the several entrée were the traditional Eggs Benedict and less traditional fish of the day. I ordered the seared pork chop served on a delicate root vegetable puree, beside crispy sautéed vegetables, mashed potatoes and a lovely coulis. The pork was tender and perfectly seasoned, the vegetables delightful and crunchy and the purées were the perfect pairing to soak up the light and delicious jus.Dessert was a vanilla milk shake shooter accompanying a delicate chocolaty French pastry. All was excellent. Services was pleasant and respectful.

I had eggs benedict off the table d'hote menu and it was amazing. Service was good. And pricing was reasonable.
