La Maison du Bulgogi - Montréal

We were not sure if it would be good or not. great that we tried! we ordered this fried chicken in this sweet and spicy sauce that was not on the menu. we saw pictures of it on the wall. it tastes as good as it looks! and the bark rib was so tender!

Delicious and great service. we really enjoyed our meal. the server was very attentive and our eating came amazingly fast (even if only about every table in the restaurant was full.) we had the doen jang jji gae (sojabean paste with bark soup) and the doea ji gogi (spicy marinated pork bbq.) the marinated pork bbq.) was mainly delicious, but also very rich served so that the supper was a nice this was our second time there (the first time was a year or two before) and we were also very happy the first time.

This restaurant does not look very good but has been around a long time selling Korean food at competitive prices. Not very satisfied by my rendition at another Korean place nearby, I tried this one in the same week to get a sense of comparison. Restaurant has an open kitchen not because it wants to, but because they have to. As another reader has pointed out, they might not be heating the restaurant as it felt cold inside, rather unusual in Montreal in winter where we heat up ? . Fairly quick service, the dish came with usual combination of ingredients but notoriously missing was the egg. Beef was flavourless and uninspired by Korean standards, rest of ingredients were typical but nonetheless, flavourless, ever contributing to elevate the whole dish. Quick service that will not make up for lack of food flavours, the whole experience was rather cheap around $17, but it will never be more than average in the whole Montreal food experience there is a better Korean restaurant out there.

I really enjoyed my experience at this casual Korean restaurant. They have a lot of Korean dishes, many of them you cannot find in most Korean restaurants. If you like Korean food, I strongly recommend trying this place!!

The service and food were both just okay. Unfortunately, they do not accept American Express, despite what is stated on the AMEX website. It would be helpful for them to update their payment options. It was a bit inconvenient to settle the bill.
