La Baraque Du Vieux St Vincent

The food at this restaurant is fantastic! The homemade pizza was exceptional, and the smoked meat sandwich was delicious. The staff is pet-friendly, and even brought our dog a bowl of water and a treat. We give it two thumbs up!

During a recent visit to Old Montreal, my husband and I stumbled upon La Baraque, a delightful restaurant conveniently located near our hotel. Despite the bustling crowd, the wait was well worth it! The rose sangria and bacon poutine were absolutely delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, we had a great dining experience at La Baraque.

With so many interesting little restaurants in this area its hard to pick one. We picked this one mainly based on that there was no wait which probably tells it all in such a busy area. They just cut so many corners from napkins, condiments right to portion sizes. Slow service despite not being busy but a friendly waiter. The old guy seems to do everything himself despite it looking like his family is camped out inside the restaurant? Figured I would try a famous Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich underwhelming.

Visited this restaurant while strolling in Old Montreal. Meant to try the famous poutine of Montreal and we notice the big sign of it in front of this restaurant. We love the poutine, Rose Sangria and the draft beer. classic restaurant.

Our tour guide for the morning tour of East Old Montreal recommended 3 must try food while in this city smoked meat, poutine and bagel. We chance upon this Resto Bar at the corner of Rue Saint Vincent and Rue Saint Paul. Having explained to the waiter that we only had 45 minutes (for our next tour of the West side) he sat us immediately and took our orders of smoked ham sandwich, poutine and diet coke (2 of the 3 must eat). Nothing really that pops out as elevated cuisine but the service was impeccable. We were serve hot food in 5 minutes, completed lunch in 15 minutes. Even before we finished eating, our waiter offered to check us out, knowing that we need to get to our next appointment. We were out with 15 minutes to spare. I only wished I could have remembered our waiter's name. Anyway, I left a substantial tip as a thank you for such an almost personal butler type service.
