Dosa Pointe - Montréal

I recently visited Dosa Pointe for their lamb biryani (prepared Hyderabadi style and I must say it was quite flavorful. What really sets it apart is that it even comes with a salan (a spicy gravy sauce) that none of the Hyderabad/South Indian restaurants in...Montreal offer with their biryanis. Their menu has an extensive list of dosa preparation (South Indian pancakes) to suit your fancy...including meat dosa preparations! I'm not sure if that's common in India...so this is definitely a unique opportunity to try! Besides dosas, they also offer Indian Chinese dishes...such as Chicken Manchurian I have tried their Dosas and South Indian appetizers in the past; i do recall them being made very well, and hope it's the same situation nowadays. Given that it's the only South Indian restaurant in Park Extension, I would highly recommend visiting Dosa Pointe at least once. Prices are fairly reasonable

They have a phone, but never answer. They have no menu. But have addresses. starnge! I suppose I have to go personally, to eat there, after a long wait, as some reviews suggest. Wait for my next reprot!

Last week I visit with my friends, this was great experience for me. Delicious food, excellent service. There is waiting list what I think it is more worthwhile to eat excellent food.

I went to Dosa Pointe on Dec we went to Montreal to play in the CAN-AM hockey tournament. My family is pure vegetarians, we opted for south Indian dishes, Dosa Pointe did not disappoint us. Their service is very good as the person...taking orders often bends as if she is having a private conversation with us. It is a nice gesture on their part as tables are arranged very closely and it made us feel we can ask any questions we have without holding back. Both my kids asked her a couple of questions and we ended up ordering different Dosa for the family meal. I also tried their Dahi vada which is one of favorite food. I saw a lot of crowd when we visited it and most of them shared wonderful feedback. I revisited the restaurant again the next day as I became DOSA Pointe FAN and their food tasted awesome. I wish we had some restaurant in the USA that matches the Quality and Prices offered by Dosa pointe. The only opportunity for them is to change the decor of the restaurant as it feels like a shack.

Have been visiting them for almost year, but off late their success has gone into their heads and they don't know how to treat customers. They have the audacity to tell customers to get out, just because they are asking for a table again...after seeing that people those came after then are being seated. Waiting is normal thing with restaurant, but now their customer service has gone down to dogs. They shout at their costumes and ask them to leave because they feel they don't need them.
