Contribuiți la feedbackI'm really disappointed with what Uncommon has become. I used to love stopping by for a quick sandwich between classes, but ever since it was shut down and taken over by new owners a couple of years ago, it hasn't been the same. If you're looking for a bottle of milk, you won’t have a problem, but every time I've visited (about 3 or 4 times over the past few months), I've been unable to order a fresh sandwich. The deli seems to be closed, or I'm directed to the fridge where the sandwiches are sad, flat, and dry. They've removed my favorite sandwich from the menu, and since I can't get anything fresh or made to order, I finally decided to try one from the fridge. It seems I need to find a new sandwich spot—I'd take the old, grungy store with great food over this overpriced, gentrified place that sells gluten-free cookies any day. By the way, the pretzel from Hinterland Market was so hard that I couldn't even cut it with a knife.
When you're on a road trip and realize you're approaching a city with fantastic dining options, you'll want to make a stop here. This spot is perfect for weary travelers seeking a quick, delicious, made-to-order sandwich. The daily specials are enticing, and everything is crafted just for you. The prompt service and fresh bread were truly appreciated. The name of the place reflects its mission well, as it offers a wide range of excellent products, including local jams, a great selection of beers and wines, fresh local tomatoes, and pints of blueberries!
The sandwich featured soft square ciabatta bread filled with a generous piece of tuna steak, nestled on a fresh bed of lettuce and a slice of tomato. It was absolutely delicious! What a wonderful surprise for lunch—totally unexpected and just what I needed. I can't recommend this place enough! I will definitely be marking it down to visit again when I'm in town. I can't wait!
I ordered a turkey sandwich here that was perfectly fine and fresh and I enjoyed it after removing the thickly cut onions. The service was very friendly and the attendants clearly took pride in their work. They mean well here, but the floor, cabinets, and all parts of the kitchen in the deli area are in terrible condition and do not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned in a very long time. Badly in need of some repairs, replacement, and deep cleaning. (Which I hope they do). Even some second hand cabinets and cleaning and repainting of behind and under things would help immensely. Right now it just seems unsanitary. The market area is in better condition, and has a wide selection of items, but the prices are too high for me to go to the market except for emergencies.
While staying in Vermont for the weekend I had the opportunity to visit the uncommon market. My intention was to pick up three sandwiches for my daughter, her boyfriend at Norwich University and myself. The sandwiches were good but I asked for justA little bit of mustard. Instead they loaded it on. I understand that mistakes can happen with one person taking sandwich orders and others making the sandwiches. The customer service was friendly. The boy who Took my order andrang me up had a great customer service! I was also happy to find that they sold coffee as well! Now that made my day! I would definitely go visit them again :
