Although it is very busy and a reservation is highly recommended, the 3 weibchen (cook, waitress, allrounder) are well organized, friendly and very efficient. the seafood is fresh, plentiful and delicious. the toilets are clean and regularly checked. a uruguayian jewel in montevideo.
A small hole in the wall with good portions fresh fish served by friendly people. I was only once, but I enjoyed a good lunch of simply prepared fresh ingredients.
We came to lunch and wanted some grilled fish. our server was beautiful and explained that they had three possibilities for the grilled fish of the day. we chose two different species, and both were delicious and came in generous portions. both courts came with kartoffels, so we did not have to order any side dishes (although they were present). we had two beers, one of which was not alcoholic. it is good that this restaurant offers this option.
That is a tiny, family-run restaurant opposite the mercado del puerto. it has a delicious “catch of the day” section, and is simple but delicious. the daily desserts they offer are also simple, but so good. if they are in the opposite order to check the mercado, it might be worth exchanging it for some seafood because of the tourist prices of the mercado.
Delicious food and awesome service! The best seafood I have had in Montevideo. Merluza negra and chipirones are para chuparse los dedos.
