San Juan Grill - Monterrey

We came here for a business lunch, and the outdoor setting was very nice. The service was outstanding and the food was very good. I really enjoyed my blue corn empanadas, but my colleagues were not as impressed with their meals. I think 4 stars is a fair rating and I would recommend this place.

Went here being recommended by a friend. No regrets at all. I’m not a huge meat eater, however I was told that the meat was delicious. And it was! Delicious meat, greatly prepared. It did take a while before it was served, as also others mention. However, it was totally worth it. I really love the meat served here in the north of Mexico. Reminds me of the meat from Southern Texas. The service itself is great. Always someone around to help. Highly recommend this place and give it a try!

We started as a table for two, we ordered and midway through the meal my daughter decided to join us having just finished work. We were well into the main course when she arrived, her order was quickly taken and her main course duly arrived. I didn't want anything from the menu and asked for a special dish for desert. The waiter checked with the chef and my special request duly arrived. Absolutely sensational, the Sous Chef presented my selection, it was the very best in both presentation and content . I have eaten in fine restaurants all over Europe this was perfect. I returned to this restaurant ten days later to repeat the experience but could not remember the wine I had chosen on our first visit. The waiter remembered our selection this was confirmed by a cell phone picture we had of our first visit. We repeated the desert experience and it was no fluke. I'm not going to describe my request, it might cause problems if everyone asks for the same, maybe management will consider adding my choice to their menu, i'm sure they will remember both my request and my delight at the quality.

We arrived to this place with extremely high expectations… supported by the fact that the place is owned by one of the best butchery shops in town. The place is really nice, very nice decorated and comfortable. We were nicely greeted by the host and offered a big nice located table. The menu has a wide variety of choices and prices are reasonable but we were there for the steaks so we only needed to decide which to choose. We went for the RibEye and the Cowboy ordering them medium cooked as our main courses, not knowing that the entrées came with a side (and not being informed by our waiter) we also ordered a side of roasted potatoes. The quality of the meat was great; however, it arrived cold to our table. I do think this was a result of having a slow waiting service and that the waiters might have forgotten to pick up our order when ready. We didn’t complain and ate it as quickly as possible to avoid ending up with a really cold piece of meat. Potatoes were really good, nicely roasted and with a rosemary touch. For dessert we had a Chocolate Soufflé which did arrive at the right temperature: yummy! I am definitely giving this place a second chance, hoping this time things go as expected…
