What a find this place was!! Fantastic hospitality with such a beautiful couple who deserve all the success in the world. The food was beautifully cooked and presented with fresh ingredients and delicious flavours. We loved it so much we went back again. You will not be disappointed !!! Can’t recommend highly enough !!!
We highly recommend this restaurant. Such attention to detail real candles on the table, great plating, nice music and of course really good food. Our maitre'd also recommended a perfect wine to go along with our food. If we're ever in Montepulciano again, we will visit this restaurant for sure.
Delicious funghi porcini salad! Never had a tastier one! And the tagliolini with tartufo… excellent! All washed down with fab Montepulciano vino! I went to bed smiling! As did my daughter after her tagliatelle with ragout si anatra! Delish!
The recent reinvention of La Locanda del Vino Nobile had been very positive. The new owners, Françoise and Massimo, have brought with them their expertise and enthusiasm for fine food. Never stuffy but always exceptional, the menu includes many Tuscan favorites exceptionally prepared with a sophisticated twist. Each item is prepared “in the moment,” with care and style, and this approach makes it possible for them to alter as necessary for allergies and intolerances. While not a 100% gluten free restaurant, the knowledge of things like celiac disease and the conscientious way Françoise and Massimo prepare the food results in absolute assurity that mistakes are NOT made in the kitchen. After 25 years of traveling in Italy, my husband was able to have his first gluten free Pici, the pasta of the region, last night, followed by maialino with Swiss chard, and orange creme brûlée for dessert. I had the pici sporcellata “normale” and the rack of lamb with roasted potatoes, followed by a flourless chocolate cake (also gluten free) with creme Anglaise. Every morsel was delectable. They have a lovely wine selection, and Françoise has a knack for choosing the perfect bottle to accompany what you are eating. If you are in the Montepulciano/Pienza/Sarteano/Chiusi area, do not miss an opportunity to experience La Locanda del Vino Nobile. A warm welcome by the new owners is guaranteed. Leaving in a few minutes to dine there again tonight!
