Welcomed as family members by Giuseppe and his wonderful family, we had the pleasure to taste both pizzas and first and second... Excellent at prices (the pizzas start from 2.50€, while the first fresh pasta from 4.00)... Such a high quality at such low prices had never happened to me. We will certainly return as well as for the excellent food, also for the wonderful treatment received... We felt pampered.

A few minutes from the center of Montefalcione, on the road to Montemiletto, we find the restaurant Da Totonno . the property has a nice parking space of about 700 square meters in front of the first room that extends on an area of about 250-300 square meters with a fifteen tables, over a second adjacent room. In the corner at the bottom of the first room there is a fireplace that helps to make the stop more welcoming. As soon as we get off the car, we are greeted by Peppino, the owner, very friendly and nice person, who makes us sit at the table. We ask you to taste the specialties of the restaurant, and to drink we ask you to taste some local wine without sulphites, since Montefalcione is a renowned area for the production also local of aglianico. We need an appetizer of apples under 'oil and ham, both of really exquisite personal production, and an extraordinary aglianico wine, always of own production. They followed a plentiful dish of meat-drawn sauce, of what it pipped on the fire for at least 3 hours, simply superlative, and a veal slice with a side dish of rape salad. Finally, he brought us some chestnuts harvested at the tree just outside the restaurant, to make roasters at the instant to the fire of the fireplace. Apart from the slice of beef, (without infamy and without glory), we ate and drank at a really high level, much more than what you would expect from first glance, seeing the location. The friendliness and hospitality of Peppino have made the right contour to desinare, and we can say we spent about three hours pleasant and relaxed. We paid 43 euros in two, which I found fair as price for the quality of the food served. The toilets leave a little to be desired, but the owner pointed out to me that it has already begun the renovation of the same. I will definitely return also only to taste the great wine.
