La Bottega Del Gelato

As we arrived in Montecatini Terme, we passed this gelato shop. It turned out our hotel was just two blocks away. We were a group of 64 students and 11 chaperones who had been traveling all day. When I put out a message that anyone who wanted gelato should meet in the lobby, about 50 of the group showed up! We walked over and although I am sure we were not the first huge group to darken their doors, the one man behind the counter just kept scooping! Eventually a younger man (his son? showed up to help. I can’t remember what flavors I got, but I do remember this was absolutely the BEST gelato I had the entire 9 days we were in Italy! Way better than Vivoli in Florence. Would go back to this cute town again just to have this gelato!

For the first time I saw a liquorice flavor, I could not resist, I got one and it was great. This is made from real liquorice, be careful if you have only eaten the sugary ropes or othe stuff that has little or no real liquorice,the flavor may be too strong for you.

The best gelato in Montecatini Terme! The variety was awesome and there were also a variety of sizes available, which was very nice. The strawberry and banana were awesome and the price was excellent!
