Restaurant La Chaumiere - Mont-Laurier

Homemade burgers were excellent. the prices are good. beautiful place, but no air conditioning inside. we'll stop there again.

The main attractions were the special jumbo sandwich and the trio sandwich with smoked meat, both of which were fantastic. However, we made the mistake of ordering two extra poutines and they were disappointing. The cheese was good, but the fries and gravy were soggy and unappetizing. At $40.00, the overall price for lunch was still reasonable, but we should have looked elsewhere for poutine.

If you're in rural Quebec, be sure to try the poutine at La Chaumiere! This local specialty is delicious, so don't worry about the calories – just enjoy it. The restaurant also specializes in smoked meat, so we decided to try both and it was a fantastic choice. The waitress was friendly and helpful, even accommodating our desire to practice our French. The service was quick, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located in a beautiful, local setting that has a charming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
