Le Salon Des Capucins - Mont-Dore

We ate here after descending from the capuchin peak at lunch time. The staff set us a table near the log fire and we enjoyed a creamy veal stew and rice with a beautiful desert of pear mousse in sponge with raspberry coulis. As Eu13 formules I considered this a steal, specially given the main course was quite large. There are a good selection of wines and half bottles for those of us watching our intake. The interior is lovely with a pleasant view of a meadow behind. Service by the staff was fast attentive and unfussy. Not sure why this isn't averaging higher, we got a great meal for a good price, in a great location promptly and courteously served. Often in premium locations like this it is the complete opposite.

Wishing to make a hook-up we stopped at lunch at the capuchin. the reception is medium, the map offers local varieties but be careful it is expensive I say that because I compare with the hostel of the mancelles much cheaper and better quality in terms of taste. For example, I took a truffle, the truffle is served in a frying pan a gigantic amount! I suspect her aspect that she was served on several occasions. No overcooked cheese cream...To finish on the menu at 19 € the proposed dessert and caramel cream, raspberry white cheese or ice cream, I ask for an ice cream the waitress tells me that it's not in my menu. We spent a very pleasant time in this brewery. beautiful summer terrace and beautiful room. We were very well received and the waiter was in small care throughout the meal. the dishes are simple and fresh, a nice surprise. very good salad, truffle, child menu.
