The scent of freshly baked gingerbread brought me into this bakery. So traditional that the lady behind the counter spoke no English. These little shops in Monschau are gorgeously presented and have great quality produce. Many don't take pin however...cash only. We got breakfast for 5, an array of baked bread, little cakes and croissants all for 9 euros. It has the most beautiful gingerbread ever. Apple cinnamon was incredible.

Ces biscuits délicieusement anisé sont absolument délicieux. Auparavant, il n'en existait, à ma connaissance, qu'une seule version aux amandes et on n'en trouvait qu'au moment des Fêtes de fin d'année, mais chez Hensch non seulement j'en ai trouvé au mois de mai, mais en plus, il y a maintenant une nuée de variétés avec des parfums, les plus alléchants les uns que les autres. Un régal. A tous ceux qui se rendront à MONSCHAU, nous conseillons vivement cette maison, car l'accueil chaleureux et les produits de qualités valent vraiment le détour.

On the day we were traveling back home we decided to buy a variety of breads in this charming bakery. Staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining what they offer. The round Vollkornbrot tasted very well. Also the other dark breads we selected were very good.
