Hon Sushi - Monrovia

I am sorry to hear about the closure of your restaurant. Your Garlic Crunch Roll sauce was delicious. Can you please share the recipe with me?

Hon Sushi is one of my most frequently visit restaurant during my time working in Monrovia. My office was located just 5 min away down the block. Their lunch menu has a lot of variety, is simple and affordable. I usually order the Chirasu bowl, their sashimi portion is quite generous topped with rice. My stomach is super sensitive, if the raw fishes aren't fresh or had gone bad, my body would treat it as a threat, and reacts quite dramatically... like food poisoning, I would get very sick, and for all the time I have been coming here, I have never got sick. On raining days, I usually love to order the cha shu ramen with soup, hot soup usually will keep me warm, comfy and happy on rainny Mondays. I am not that thrill with sushi rolls, but looking at their sushi rolls menu, I can't help not ordering it. There must have been 30+ kind of rolls... Since I am no longer working in Monrovia, gonna miss this little gem! [hidden link]

Due to COVID restrictions I ordered for takeout. They have a table set up at front for taking your order and picking up orders. They offer hand sanitizer. For food I ordered the surf and turf roll, the house special roll, and a spicy tuna roll. All tasted very good. Staff was friendly. It's a good sushi spot.

Tried Hon Sushi on Uber eats last night for dinner and so glad we did! I discovered my new fave sushi roll omg! It was so good I didn't even think to take a picture of it before it was too late Delivery was quick and effortless, order was correct. We got the rainbow roll (pictured) which was fresh and tasty...your typical Rainbow Roll...But omg the Krispy Kreme Roll...it was insanely good! It has a couple of types of lovely fresh fish in it, along with avocado and cream cheese and it's wrapped in soy paper and lightly fried omg so so yummy! It came with a nice sauce too...like spicy mayo mixed with thickened soy sauce...outta this world! And they were generous with their ginger and wasabi too. Can't speak to the restaurant itself since we ordered delivery, but the rolls were awesome so we'll definitely be a returning customer!

This is one of the few places in SGV that's decent for AYCE. For dinner, it's $26.99/person but the menu is limited. There were a couple of items we wanted to try from the regular menu that weren't included in the AYCE menu. As with most AYCE joints, nothing really stood out to us. However, I do recall the Temptation roll being a good blend of flavors! Service is great, the servers came around a few times to check up on us. Overall, great place to go if you're craving sushi and don't want to break the bank.
