Restaurant La Bastide - Monpazier

We met with work colleagues from many years ago who have retired in Monpazier for a last night dinner at Restaurant La Bastide and it was fabulous. The food, the service and the ambience was perfect. A dining experience especially my John Dory simply sublime followed by crème brûlée

Situated in the beautiful town of Monpazier and recommended by the owner of the gite we stayed in, this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was really good quality and presented well it was well worth the visit and I would go again if I was in the area.

Our friends are locals and really like this restaurant. It is very charming in a lovely village. The excellent service was very friendly and helpful. I had a seafood appetizer and a lamb main and both were very good.

Staff were really friendly and the restaurant is dog friendly. Had a pleasant lunch and the food was ok.

First time we saw this restaurant open in the two weeks we stayed so unfortunately only got to eat here the once. But what a treat though. The service and food were both top class. Value for money was also a winner. Our experience was only slightly let down by what we thought was a lacking ambiance. By that we mean magnolia walls and a rather stark interior. Kind of like a hotel restaurant. Maybe if the place was a bit more full it may have distracted us. However, the placings were set out perfectly and the presentation plates, glass, chinaware were well thought through, so please take the ambiance criticism with a large pinch of salt.
