My birthday meal was held here, and the food was really really tasty, well presented, ample and lovely. Would definitely recommend it as a place to eat. The men enjoyed the beer. And it was very fairly priced. Due to the old bridge being closed a lot of the locals where't in, so with regards to ambiance it felt rather empty but then it was a Thursday evening.

Now reopened after a brief closure and as good as ever. Rumours were that this pub was to be restaurant only and this is not the case. Fine food served but real ale still here to enjoy a pint or three. Two real ales and a welcoming atmosphere. You can't go wrong here. Right oppose the castle. Take a look.

Last night 25th on the way to summer set. defo stay made there again so welcome can not do enough for them and the breakfast is amazing. when I'm on my way back, I'll come back

Love this place. Haven’t been for a while but hoping to visit soon as I hear they have a new bar manager who is well known to us and a great loss to the last place he worked. Looking forward to seeing him do well here
