Well worth a visit just to eat but perfectly located for exploring The Wye valley, Monmouth, Chepstow and over to USK etc The racecourse is about 20 mins away if you fancy a days horse racing, Highly recommended.
We visited yesterday lunch time for a family 80th birthday meal. We were met with a warm welcome with two family members having mobility issues we were seated in a perfect location. The food was incredible definitely restaurant standard rather than local pub. We all ordered different meals from the menu and it all came out together and were all very generous portions. The pub has recently been renovated and looks great. I’ve saved the photos off their Facebook page to post on here for people to see. I highly recommend a visit. The new opening hours are: Wednesday 6. pm to 11pm Thursday. 6 pm to 11 pm Friday. 4 pm to 11 pm Saturday 12 to 3 pm 4.30 to 11 pm Sunday 12 to 4 pm 7 pm to 11 pm Food is served Food served: Wed 6pm to 9 pm Thurs 6pm to 9 pm Fri 6 pm to 9 pm Sat 12 pm to 2 pm Sat 6 pm to 9 pm Sun 12 pm to 3 pm The Sunday lunch is incredible too. This is definitely our favourite pub in the area. They also have holiday cottages so if your just passing by or looking for somewhere to stay I highly recommend a visit.
Were visiting our son and his partner and had dinner at the Carpenters Arms. Food and service was fantastic and very good value for money. Lovely setting too. Would highly recommend.
This is a great little pub. The landlord was hilarious and made us feel very welcome. He kept a great range of beers and was very knowledgeable about them. The menu was extensive with lots of lovely home cooked food. Definitely visit again when in the area. Thanks
We found this pub purely by chance on our trip to Chepstow. The owner was very welcoming, the interior is very traditional and cosy. The menu is surprisingly varied, not just ordinary pub grub, and all the food is freshly cooked. This means that you have to wait a while, but the food is well worth the wait. We would become regulars if we didn't live 100 miles away.
