Tasca Da Calcadinha - Monforte

Very friendly Owners serving very good local Alentejo dishes and with a good range of local and Portuguese wines. We tried the baked chicken with rice and salad, plus tasted a fabulous pork casserole. Great!!!

We were travelling through and we searched on TripAdvisor for a nice place to stop and have lunch. Based on the reviews, we chose Tasca da Calçadinha. We called to book a table. Upon arrival we were pleasantly greeted. We ordered ‘Sopa de Cação’, ‘Lagartos de Porco’ and ‘Moelas de Tomatada’. All dishes tasted amazing and were brilliantly cooked. Traditional and true to its origins! What a pleasant surprise!!!! If you need to have lunch around here, this place is amazing and the service is very correct and kind. Top notch!!!!

A small restaurant/bar on the outskurts of Monforte. A limited menu with the usual choices. We had black pork which was very tasty and tender. The desserts were also good, especially the house dessert which was appled based. Inexpensive and good for a local style lunch or dinner.
