The Bayou - Monett

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I had since the last time I went to Louisiana (even then it's close). We will definitely come back, often. Shrimp and Grotte were the star of the night for me. Jumbalaya tasted great with a little smokiness. Alligator was cooked for perfection and the dough was so seasoned. Meat cakes were tasty and the dough was super fluffy. Gumbo was loaded and also tasteful. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Loved the food and the atmosphere. They were out of some things, but we came there pretty late. Appropriate prices- thought the mixed drink was wonderful, but a little expensive. The food we got was excellent. The okra..dunno what they have in or what you have, but it was the best I ever had. The dough on my shrimps and alligator was a salt overload for me, but overall we really enjoyed it. In any case, you want to go back and try some other things. Oh, and the fried cucumbers delish!

Great service great food. This is not a cheap restaurant, but you get good Cajun food. As a lot of Cajun food much of it is fried deep. Do not go here if you worry about eating the most healthy food you can eat.

Great food and excellent service! Our waiter was so nice to our Kiddos and made great recommendations. We live about an hour from Monett, but want to cook shrimp for Saturday night. The catfish was in the square and my crustfish Etouffee was delicious.

Great food, friendly people, good atmosphere. Known for New Orleans style cuisine, but they also have the very Best steaks and prime rib I've eaten anywhere. I love this place! Very sad. This wonderful restaurant who's owner/chef and his staff always made you feel like family closed its doors at end of service last Saturday, 6/29/2019. Darren you are loved and missed.
