Ice Cream Cottage - Moneta

We just had a really unpleasant experience at this ice cream shop. The young staff was serving ice cream cones using their bare hands, and I noticed them wiping their hands with an incredibly dirty towel that looked like it belonged to a mechanic. We brought this to the attention of the cashier, but she didn't seem to care. I highly recommend avoiding this place; it’s likely you'll come away feeling unwell due to hygiene concerns.

I worked here in the early '90s, and it's great to see that even though the owners have changed over the years, the atmosphere feels the same. The service was excellent, and the ice cream was just perfect.

I've been visiting this place for over 25 years. They have a great variety of ice cream, affordable prices, and a friendly staff. I recommend getting a cup or cone and heading to the dock to watch people feed popcorn to the carp.

My wife 's family has been coming here for 20 years. I wasn 't going to get anything until I saw they had soft serve. I asked for a large bowl of it. The girl barely filled it up, then gave me an already partially melted bowl of ice cream. Whatever. Then wepaid. $4.80. are you serious? Okay never buying that again. Wasn 't going to complain. This isn 't why I 1 starred this place. Itwas the way the staff treated us later. 2 minutes later the family is eating, and we see my brother-in-law eating his. It wasbigger than mine, and it was a small. Still soft serve. Okay I guess I should talk to the manager even though ours is basicallydone. She denied what I said. She told me they always weigh it before giving it to you and it would have been 8 oz. I told herno one weighed it, and to be fair there 's no way this was 8 oz (I do weigh your own froyo a lot). All I expected was an, oh,I 'll talk to the girl who served you about it, and either knocking the charge down to a medium or getting a little more icecream. The manager said the girl definitely weighed it. The manager wasn 't in the room when the ice cream wasn 't weighed. Iwasn 't trying to pull a fast one on her, stealing ounces and ounces of ice cream; but she treated me like a scam artist. Reallycrummy experience. By the way, I cross posted this review because people came after me on Yelp and called me names for having abad experience, and their response reviews were the only thing they ever did on Yelp. That seems suspicious.
