We were so pleased we made the effort to reach this town so we could eat at this restaurant on our canal holiday. Very good value set menu at 27.50 euro for 4 courses, all delicious and interesting. Good wines, a delicious aperitif with white wine and limoncello, and an excellent Sauterne with dessert. The proprietor speaks excellent English. The atmosphere was characteristically traditional rustic French. It was about 500 metres from the boat mooring. Our arrival of a party of 6 took them by surprise so I suggest you book a table so as not to be disappointed. It is well worth the stop here! Wonderful food and a warm welcome.
Best ever dinning experience. Welcoming service. Superb food. Everything was perfect. Trust suggestion from Katerina she is a gem ans the chief wasan artist.
Katarina and Ronald made me feel especially welcome in their beautiful restaurant, I was dining alone, but I could have been dining with friends, attention to detail is second to none.The menu was so attractive that I went for the Auberge du Centre set menu, I was looked after like royalty. Aperitif, followed by a Salmon mouse with a mild curry flavoured dressing muse bouche. An absolutely delightful prawn dish, needed more bread to soak up the juices. A terrific raspberry sorbet, followed by a fillet steak the likes of which I have rarely bettered. A well described cheese platter, which Katarina described to a "T". Now, the desert was described as apricots with home made vanilla ice cream, well the first mouthful of warm apricots with the ice cream hid a beautiful surprise underneath of gorgeous dark chocolate mouse and scattered around crispy speculoos crumb, it was absolutely Devine.If you don't believe me, try it for yourselves you will not be disappointed.Sorry too involved enjoying this absolutely wonderful experience to take any photos.
This was the best restaurant we visited during our 10 day trip at the canal du nivernais. Went there twice, since we only found out on day 8. Great food!
