Mykonos tavern - Monash

We booked a dinner for 2 here on a Saturday night after checking out the menu and decor the day before . The owners have done a fabulous job with creating a mini Mykonos and you do feel like you are there - not in downtown Oakleigh. We ordered Calamari for entree but were disappointed with it - not super tender and deep fried which is not our preference - we like the light coating of flour which shows off the squid. Our mains were just OK - we won't return , based on our first experience. Might try again later this year ( depending on other reviews ) as they have not been opened long and may need time to improve.

When I feel like I want to go to greece it's just a 20min drive. The place is awesome the music is great ouzo and octopus at almost any time sooo much like greece thank you xxx

It was a cold night so rug up as heating not great. Nevertheless the food makes up for it, very rustic. Saganaki and Octopus yummy...Wines are all from Greece so ask waiter for recommendations. Finally make sure you ask the waiter to stagger the food if you want it will all come out at once and it gets cold.

Great little tavern where the space has been maximised with great effect. You feel like you're in a courtyard of a taverna in Greece.The food. Tonnes of it, with great flavorurs, though a tad salty for my liking. Starter of dips, mushroom and potato,octopus and calamari- that calamari is something else! The mains are enough for two; I'd like to see at least one more vego option. If you like meat, well you'll be going to the right place . Live music a couple of nights a week adds to the great atmosphere but the food needs no props.The customer service is great - I've been 3 times and watched the interactions- the staff respond well to pressures and customer demands.Good luck! Though you won't need it.

If you want to spend time in a unique place you should try Mykonos tavern,This place made us feel like we were on a Greek island! The service was friendly and the music was nice!The dishes were traditional but also had their own special touches that added to the menu.The portions were large and have a variety of dishes to choose from.Highly recommended!
