Mama's Buoi - Monash

Besides the service this place is really bad. The food is not authentic and tastes terrible. It is way overpriced, you'd be better off going to Springvale. I would not recommend this place if you want to try real Vietnamese food.

Having eaten very authentic Vietnamese food weekly for over 15 years and having visited the country, the food on offer here was ok, although the pricing was possibly reflective of the high rents at Chadstone Shopping Centre. Shared entrees with the group, then individual dishes for mains. My fish in banana leaf was reasonable, perhaps a little dry, and a little overpriced comparative to the size of the serving. I was a bit hungry but as the kitchen was closing, too late to order a desert. The main issue with eating at a major shopping centre on a Friday night was the parking! Some of the group spent more that 45 minutes hunting a car park, which really ran us late to eat. A few of the group didn't finish their food, so not everyone at the table had the best experience. A bit of a shame as we had all been looking forward to a catch up.

Was excited to see mamas buoy in chadstone as I love eating at the Crows Nest restaurant. Well...talk about disappointing. Chicken satay was dry and like chewing on rubber. Crispy coconut prawns were disgusting...full of batter and coconut and the dipping sauce was tasteless. Chicken curry was also tasteless. Soooo disappointed. Did mention to staff that we were very disappointed, but they didn't care.Don't eat here - much better restaurants to eat at in chadstone. Oh and it wasn't cheap either. $90+ for 3 meals and 2 lemonades.

I think we would have been better off going to our local Chinese takeaway. The mamas beef stir fry was missing ingredients (broccoli and lemongrass) and had only 3 small strips of beef ($22). The wok tossed seafood was ok ($28). Our waitress was lovely.

I'm an experienced reviewer with hundreds of Trip Advisor reviews, including a large number of Vietnamese restaurants.This has to be one of the worst. I waited 25 minutes for my meal, my wife waited 45 minutes... you guessed it, I was finished before she started. The wait staff are robots who don't listen and don't care. I had chicken curry, a really small bland serve, probably the worst curry I've ever had.It's hard to believe that the experience was so bad!
