Showed us to our very clean room overlooking the court yard. The Restaurant was fantastic. The food was excellent and served by the land lady who was so friendly. This hotel has a permanent spot on my GPS. Next time I will bring my walking boots the area is stunning.
This is a rural hotel with warm charming rooms. It 's rooms are not modern, rather, they are traditional and cosy . It is located in a secluded and picturesque river valley. The large rock formations that the building is attached to, are ominous and look as if they may tumble down upon the hotel and erase it. They have however, reportedly been standing for 80 million years so maybe this won 't happen any time soon. There are very few staff. I saw 2. One served us drinks and a meal, the other cooked in the kitchen. The food was what you 'd expect in a quiet rural restaurant in Spain. I can 't comment on breakfast because I didn 't have any. The group I was with had arranged for breakfast but were told it would only be available from 9:00 This is a bit late if you wish an early departure. The person who was running the place arrived at about 2 minutes to 9:00 in his car, (it appeared we were all on our own in the hotel overnight with no staff on premises). I don 't know what he was planning to do in the 2 minutes before our breakfast was supposed to appear. Perhaps it would have been spectacular. My friends had all left and I only stayed to pay our bills. I did have a good nights sleep and the rooms were clean and perfectly fine. The hotel has its own chapel attached which is worth a quick look. This would be very useful if you are of a religious bent. On the plus side...it 's only €35 per night including breakfast. So. I guess his profit margin was a little higher with us, huh ?
