Contribuiți la feedbackStopped here for lunch over a weekend. Lunch menu was a bit off, but both found something to order. One of us had what the menu described as portobello mushrooms with poached eggs. What turned up was one mushroom and one egg. Not quite as described on the menu, and while good flavours absolutely not worth the £11+ we were charged. If there had been two mushrooms and two eggs I wouldn’t have minded the price. The other one of us had the tuna melt ciabatta. Hard to get wrong but found it a bit odd that it had random bits of carrot in. Overall we found the Staff were friendly and pleasant. Would just say the menu was quite odd and very overpriced for what we had.
Don’t know what the review is about below me “ Mum loves to moan “ myself and my partner Polly walked here from dorking this morning , the staff and food were amazing . We eat out very often , this honestly was better than the Sunday lunch we had at the ritz! If your unsure about going here , see for yourself how great this little gem is ! The staff are very good , also when the chef walked out we both looked at him and he came up to us and asked if everything was ok ! We were looking at him because he was so clean and fresh looking ! We joked to each other and said he must be the dentist ! He’s whites we gleaming ! I can’t rate this place and staff any higher ! Thankyou all !
Slow service, had to repeat orders a number of times. Not Covid friendly put drinks on our table meant for another table, and then took them away to the other table without changing glasses etc. Ordered vegetarian meals for two vegetarians and eggs and bacon for the meat eater. They put the bacon on the vegetarian meal and bought it back without the bacon and not respectful enough to make again it again without bacon until we argued to get this done. No jam, no diet coke and just bought different items without checking then got cross when we didn't want them. Very slow staff who seemed very inexperienced, and manager/owner very shouty and aggressive when we complained. He told us not to pay, we would have but he was so aggressive we just left without finishing. Awful people, service and food avoid, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Having lived in Dorking for more than 3 years we were so happy to find this excellent café just outside of town. The owner and staff are all very good, friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. We have made a tradition now of going for their full breakfast every Sunday morning and we love it every time. Another great thing about this place is they have Hofmeister on tap! It is a great place to go for afternoon drinks. I cannot recommend this Café enough and I just wish there was more than 5 stars I could give.
We are currently in the process of moving to Brockham and through lockdown we had been through the area a few times and saw this restaurant. Previously, it had been closed but as soon as we got a chance to come down after lockdown was lifted we really looked forward to coming here. Described as a Coffee Wine Bar we had followed them on Instagram and had visions of morning stylish coffees with smashed avo on toast and nights in here eating delicious first class food with bottles of wine. When we arrived the cakes on the entrance looked inviting and delicious. We was shown to our seats by a really nice gentleman, however the first thing we couldn’t help but notice was the decor and food seemed misaligned. Mismatched chairs and very basic tables. As we had seen online, the food was absolutely perfect, displayed on a mix of slate plates, fancy black plates there is no doubt that the food here is that of finer dining. However, the decor is more edging towards canteen style dining. We would go here again for the food, interested to see if this does open as a restaurant at night as it’s a bit confusing as to if it opens for dinner or not.
