Contribuiți la feedbackWe stayed in this crazy place in Easter, we had booked by chance. wild position, I would say almost fairy tale. the crazy owner, madly friendly. in half an hour he told us the story of his life. the menu is non-existent, you won't know what I eat when you need it. all good and abundant. We are not local, but if we return to modena we will definitely return to the pears.
Looks like a movie. a few meters from traffic and from the twenty-first century, it turns into a farmhouse without signs and is found as for the charm back in time. there are thousands of picturesque tractors made with art reconstructions by assembling antique and antique furniture and objects. but this place is different: it is not the result of a reconstruction but of a conservation. everything is incredibly authentic, from appliances to stoves, from barrels to numerous family memories exposed a little everywhere. on arrival the table is already enlisted with homemade appetizers, and as soon as the banquet begins. the most fixed menu is nonexistent, without even being declaimed it is served and only. Fried tortellini with balsamic vinegar, fried pizzas, and then two first, two seconds and dessert, for the heroes who do it at the bottom. all delicious and very genuine, and served with warmth and friendliness. while the owner wanders by adding wood in the stoves and giving anecdotes of the secular history of the family and the place, seasoned with remarkable humor. You have a secular story or you don't have it, you can't make it up or buy it. and if you do it well to keep it with love and share it, as it happens here.
It's the second time I go to this particular farm. is located at the gates of modena, on the east emilia. is not at all signaled, if not for a tubular light on the edge of the gate from which you enter. so it is oblivion to be explained well how to get there. the environment is extremely informal, so much so that it really seems to be at the house of friends. the owner of the place is a singular, self-ironic and extremely pleasant person, as well as his right arm, a gentleman over 65 years, who helps him in the management of the farm. the environment is rustic: in fact the place is located in an old country house, with vintage photos and furnishings typical of the ancient Modena country houses. breathe tradition in this place. I feel like I'm a child when I went to the country to find my mother's uncles. the most curious thing about me is how the wine is necessary: from an aluminum bucket, pour it in glass jugs. remains a bit surprised, but it is the beauty of the place. the menu is at a fixed price and at the moment it is 35,00 € per person. as often happens in farms, the dishes are equal to all, that is, it is not possible to choose. but quiet, you eat so much and well that it does not generate any problem. start from the appetizers (more than one) to two first (lasagna optimistic to the pores), a second (there was a stew with potatoes, onions and apples), sweets, coffee and bitter. I mean, there's nothing missing. to redeem all a romantic pinch, candles on each table. clearly, it is welcome to book.
A Saturday night in Modena history...and not only.. You enter into a dimension of past times, as if time had stopped. An ancient dwelling, frames, to a painting, of higher quality food and wine value, not to mention the cordiality of the service, and the familiar warmth that you breathe. He, Count Peri, is next to our table, which while polishing the pages of ancient book, tells, as a lived writer, the deeds of his ancestors, anecdotes of Italian history, and the past of our Modena. A different dinner, where from the start to the dessert was simply superlative along with the lambrusco of the house. We've been missing for a few years. Returning was charming and wonderfully satisfying.
This is not a place for modern laziness. It is reserved for romantic people, those who love fairy tales and everything that is artisanal. This is a unique place, with its Soul and an important History, that tell us the thousand ancient objects that furnish the local. Here we go back in time, when everything was more human. We ate and drank divinely well as when we went home in the last century by an old aunt who cooked very well. All at a reasonable price.
