Sfera's 1877 Restaurant - MODBURY

We dined here recently for a birthday dinner. The staff were ok at best, definitely not a stand out or very professional. Our meals were nothing special, particularly the pasta dishes which were bland, uninspiring and lacking flavour. The atmosphere is pleasant enough but incredibly noisy, so don't expect to be able to carry out a conversation. We were hoping for a memorable night but instead left feeling disappointed, especially with the unremarkable food, mediocre staff and then to top it off, a pricey bill.

Located within the Sfera's Function Complex, this high-quality restaurant may sometimes be overlooked due to the other features of the convention and function center. The 1877 restaurant offers exceptional antipasto and delicious homemade pasta as standout menu items.

We had a lovely meal and it was obviously well patronised as it was hard to get in to - well worth it when we did. Highly recommended!

The food was good and the staff very welcoming and friendly, and a bit of fun too.We ahd a number of meals there and invited our friend s for dinner there as well. We had a table right near the fire place wich was very welcom on the cold winter night.

We had a 5 course degustation meal with matching wines from Lane Winery in Hahndorf (SA). It was all very nice, but I think the highlight was the lobster ravioli with truffle. Stunning presentation of all courses and the wines were excellent. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly, albeit a little noisy as the wine took over!! It was a great night! Thoroughly rcommended!
