Cafe Trio - Missouri

Be careful if you are making a reservation on Open Table for this restaurant The Cafe Trio in Kansas City!! I made one online for my birthday. When I called the restaurant to let them know I would be a few minutes late they did not have my name on the reservation list. I stated that I had a confirmation email and then the hostess told me to look at it. Richard is the best server! Very warm and cozy on the Patio. Plaza lights and food is the best dining experience! Go!

We LOVE the atmosphere here, especially during their themed months. They have wonderful live piano music and the absolute best mac and cheese you could ask for.

I had checked on-line earlier this afternoon and there were several reservations available throughout the evening every 15 minutes so I didn’t worry about making a reservation. Arrived and the maitre d asked if we had a reservation and said “let me check if I have anything available”. Went here for a late Christmas celebration. The decor and atmosphere were amazing. Also, the food is some of the best I’ve had in Kansas City. I has the Mac Daddy (closest in photo), someone else ordered the short ribs (other dish pictured), and the last person ordered the pork chop. All of them were seasoned well, hot, and packed with flavor. Signature Martinis are all $7 on Wednesday’s so that’s a plus too. Four stars only because service was pretty slow, but our wait staff was very kind.
