Billys Donuts - Missouri City

First, I was hesitant to try Billy's Donuts for the great amount of nonsense reviews from social media. I finally put my hesitation aside, and I have visited Billy's Donuts twice. Both visits were at different times of the week at different times of the day. Here are my thoughts. Shipley Donuts was always the baseline and the gold standard. To judge every donut fair, you must try their original glazed donut. Billy's original glazed donuts blow Shipley completely out of the conversation. Your glaze is well placed. You can say that they rest their donuts before putting them on the display tablets. There is a uniform glaze. The consistency of the dough is easy, and the doughnuts are full and round. The glaze is also the perfect consistency. Sometimes donuts have a glaze that is to runny or to chalky. Your glaze is perfectly adjusted and still maintains moisture. Her boudain kolaches are also from this world. Many filling, delicious Kolachebrot with the perfect amount of yeast. The Jalapeno boudain colache was compared to the regular subpar. I look forward to trying the rest of their menu. My children loved their cakes donuts.

Randomly stopped here on the way to the beach and omg! Now I see why this place has 5 stars. And all I got were (1) multicolored doughnuts and (6) glazed doughnuts. I literally ate it all on a day minus a but I blame it to be pregnant for 30 weeks

UPDATE SUPER DONUTS AND KOLACHES! WOW! Today arrived at 9:40 and there was a line of people on the outside of the shop. After 15 minutes we were at the order of our donuts. The super friendly staff helped us with our selections. Had to taste a jelly filled donut when paying. Your donuts are very fresh and tasteful. Trays were taken all the time into the display cases! We spent about $30 total on 4 kolach $13 and a variety of 16 donuts $15 ...which they sat in 6 donut holes without a fee! This place is a new icon and it is worth visiting. You have a good idea. SUPER DONUTS!! Wanted to try these over Donuts and hit with Billy himself. They sell each day recently and a TV news crew was there a story. Unfortunately, they were sold out, so stay tuned to an update. I'm glad to come back.

Good food overall, and I will definitely return to try more items, but I don't think it won the title of my favorite donut shop yet. The Vietnamese lady who served us was very friendly and nice. She gave me a very important tip: it is better to go on weekends if they are much more busy and thus completely store the cases with all their products. We went to a Monday that I was out of work, and they only filled the cases halfway. -Brisket colache: 5 stars. That's really pretty good. They packed it full of meat, and the meat was actually quite tasteful and delicate. -Maple Speck Doughnut: 4 stars. The bacon was a bit too thick and too hard, and I wish there were still a few pieces, but still quite good overall and I will definitely get it back. Maybe next time it's better. -Apple fritter: 4 stars. Too few apple pieces and not enough cinnamon taste. But the donut was soft and fluffy. Not bad, but I had better. -Oreo Glazed Chocolate Cake Donut: 3 stars for me personally only because I am not a big fan of Oreos or Cake Donuts in general, but I wanted to try. I'm sure other people who like these ingredients would enjoy it more. - Raspberry Jelly-Filled Donut: My 7-year-old son LOVED. I thought it was pretty good for a jelly donut, but jelly donuts are not really my preference. - Blue Icing with rainbow scattering donut: 4 stars. Not my preference, but I just finished the rest of my son Donut. It was pretty good for what it was. -Variety tray of icy doughnut holes with wrinkles: my children enjoyed it.

Awesome kolaches and donuts. The Raspberry cake donut is awesome! Would definitely like to try the raspberry cake with chocolate icing. I think would be a great combo. The kolaches bread is soft and amazing and they are delicious. Plus the people serving are very nice. This is a great donut shop! Owners if you decided to do a raspberry cake donut with chocolate icing let me know, because I will be there!
