The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro

This is a very Canadian restaurant chain. Main menu items are burgers with any combination of addons, choice of beef, elk, chicken and delicious enormous buns, LOTS of perfect French Fries. The good is served on an aluminum baking pan about 11 by 14 on a paper. There is a choice of sides, wine, beer, soft drinks. It is a MOUNTAIN of fabulous food. Good service. Interesting place.

If you like burgers this is a great place actually even if you dont they have such a selection of different things on the menu around the theme of burger but you can have vegan with or without a bun - I think there is something for everyone.

As a long time lover of the works (I have eaten at the Burlington, Oakville, and Milton locations) I will never eat at the port credit location again. The manager Mohammed is the WORST example of customer service I have ever dealt with. As long as he works for the company, I will not return.He was rude and impatient from the beginning of our interactions even though it was 3 in the afternoon and the restaurant was dead. It was impossible to get his attention for service and when we did he was in a hurry (ie. throwing down our drinks without a word and rushing off-they actually spilled he was so hurried). When I ordered I asked to replace a topping with something else of the same price as I don't eat cheese - he told me it couldn't be done and when I said other locations had allowed it he said 'fine' and just walked away. When he brought the bill I was charged for the topping and mentioned he had never said I would have to pay for switching something out. He ripped the bill out of my hands and went to fix it. When he brought the bill back he started to condescendingly call me 'hun' saying .. 'here Hun I fixed it, just so you know Hun it doesn't work that way', etc. I asked him to please stop calling me Hun, at which point he began to call me honey and continue to go on about how he's worked at the corporate office and no location would ever allow a customer to switch toppings (although I have eaten at 3 other locations and never had an issue - in fact I've always been encouraged by staff to customize my burger as that's the whole idea at the works!) After I asked to speak to a manager, he advised he was the manager and took out his card and threw it at me. He then told me 'honey theirs nothing you can do about it because I work for corporate'When your manager and apparent worker from head office is treating customers in this manner, it is unforgivable. I will never return to a restaurant where the manager calls me names after being asked repeatedly to stop. Mohammed is a bully who poorly represents a company that I used to love.DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BEHAVIOUR OR THIS RESTAURANT.

Awful- waited for 45 minutes for burgers that never showed. Staff were aloof and totally untrained. The manager came over to apologize when we asked for the drink bill and cancelled the order - he smelled of bad body odour- disgusting. The place was nearly empty - now we know why! Don't go here!!!!'

The food is the same as every other Works location, the staff made the difference, made the atmosphere so much different than any other location I've been to and made our time there fun!
