Dinner as a couple with the 8-course menu. It's very ambitious, we were more than full! It was overall very good except for two dishes that I enjoyed moderately. One of them had a pie with an overcooked crust and the other was a matter of personal taste. The service was perfect! I recommend for a romantic moment with dinner, a night at the hotel, breakfast and the spa! Service: Dine in
We are really disappointed with our experience at Montaigu; not because of the food but really because of the service. We were neglected from the beginning to the end of the dinner with absent or incompetent servers. We wait 45 minutes to get the card (which we have to ask for); then our starters are served we still don't have any bread (which we have to ask for). The dishes arrive lukewarm; the langoustine sorbet is melted when it arrives at our table; the monkfish is lukewarm. The waiters make many mistakes when presenting the dishes to us. They tell us about monkfish when they bring us the starter (it’s zucchini); when we ask for information about the rabbit we are not told that it is a stuffed rabbit. They bring us meat knives to eat the fish. The sommelier does not come to our table during the first hour we are seated; we end up choosing our own bottle. In total it took us more than 3 hours to eat dinner. Very disappointed with this experience that we had looked forward to during our stay at the estate.
Disappointing experience, we had a wobbly table... I ordered a pommeau de Bretagne but the waiter brought me an eau de vie... Probably from the same house (Gorvello distillery) Strawberry nectar=Pago... The food is excellent but nothing surprising. Neither do wine pairings... We spent about 3 hours at the table... Why impose a number of dishes if the kitchen does not assume or anticipate? Too bad for a Michelin star restaurant... It may be time to question yourself and improve your service. Fortunately the setting is magnificent.
More of a traditional restaurant than a real gastronomic restaurant. The cuisine is correct, the setting friendly. Bar and dilapidated restaurant room. Cocktails unworthy of an establishment that aims to be of a certain standard. Very high addition compared to the quality of the services. Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
