Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - Mishawaka

The first time I visited this restaurant, I wasn't very impressed. However, my husband convinced me to give it another try, and I'm glad I did! The food was excellent this time around. Despite the staff being busy, the service was great. The Painkiller cocktail was also outstanding. Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

All of our food arrived quickly and was excellent. We started with Cheddar's cheese fries, which were loaded with bacon and cheese—an absolute hit with everyone. I particularly loved my Key West Chicken Shrimp; the shrimp had just the right amount of spice to complement the chicken and sauce perfectly. The southern-style green beans were among the best restaurant green beans I’ve ever had. I highly recommend getting the broccoli cheese casserole as a side; you won't regret it. Both my husband and son enjoyed their meals as well—one had fried chicken shrimp and the other Dijon chicken with mushrooms. We appreciated not having to wait for the waitress to return for payment, as it was convenient to pay directly at the table using the kiosk. The decor of the restaurant was nice, the service was good, and all the staff were pleasant. We will definitely return when we're in the area.

Staffing is a common issue in many businesses, but this did not affect my rating since they only seated guests they could adequately serve. We had two waitstaff, including a very pleasant trainee, who were friendly throughout our meal. Unfortunately, both dishes were lacking in flavor. The New Orleans Style Pasta included five shrimp, two slices of sausage, and some mystery meat that was inedible. When I mentioned this to the supervising waitstaff, she became quite defensive, stating that the dish only comes with five shrimp. However, when she brought the bill, they did remove the charge for the dish.

After being seated, I was greeted by this amazing honey-butter slathered croissant. Waitress was great and brought me my drink and quickly took my order of coconut shrimp. The sauce they bring for dipping the shrimp was sweet and tasty, but I also shouldhave asked for some cocktail sauce. Fries and Cole slaw were good. Nice little atmosphere. Service was fast. Would definitelycome back for more croissant.
