I had dinner tonight at Surf Hut in Destin and it once again did not disappoint. They have the best salads. The lettuce is always ice cold and so fresh and the homemade ranch is to die for. The pork sliders and fries were also delicious. Best of all was the server,Toad. He was so friendly and provided excellent service with a smile and maybe a few jokes! Definitely ask for him if you have the opportunity. The most beautiful sunset finished the perfect dinner. If you can, time your dinner around the sunset. You won't be disappointed.

Okay, okay. I'll be picky why I gave this a 4.5. The tables I sat outside left very little space between me and passersby on the veranda. I should invite them to another half-value assessment for a SINGLE OYSTER. Is there a lack of oysters I am not aware of? I know there are problems with the Appalachacola oysters dimiinishing, but Pensacola still has them available. As oyster Connosieur, I find this appaling. Annnnyway, the catch of the day (amberjack) was perfectly cooked like the fried grouping fingers for my child (and they did not skip how many were in the child's meal). My wife is a fish taco aficianado and she enjoyed her fish tacos that contained groupers. The view here is amazing consdiering this restaurant not overloaded on everything I saw except oysters. I knew that we had the risk of being totally deterred, as most restaurants on the beach do not make any effort in food quality and offer a good service, but we have not experienced any of these problems that plague most of the on-the-water restaurants in Destin, which with taste bullshit for tourists at a high price with Scottish service because they are on the beach. Our service was spectacular. My experience here was above average everywhere. Stop it.

A spontaneous trip to Destin brought us here and I am glad that it did. Oysters on the half shell for the appetizer were perfect. My wife got the fish tacos, which were amazing! I got the fish of the day (Amberjack) which was also fantastic. Server was training and they both did great. Prices were not cheap but we would definitely come here again.
