Khao Hom Thai Minneapolis

This place is fantastic! We had the mango sticky rice, Thai lobster rolls, laab, and dumplings, and everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. I can’t wait to come back!

Takeout only! The menu doesn’t have updated prices. The suggested tip for takeout seems a bit steep at 15%. I ordered the green curry, which had great flavor, though it might have been a bit heavy on the bamboo shoots.

The pad Thai was lighter in color than what you typically see in Thai restaurants, so be aware of that. I requested a spice level of 3, and they delivered on that! The drunken noodles had a bit more flavor, but we still needed to dig into the sauce cabinet for some extra seasoning. I also asked for a level 3 spice here, but it didn’t have the same kick as the pad Thai. The papaya salad was decent, although I wished it came with Thai beef jerky as part of the dish. That’s just my personal preference, as I tend to prefer the beef jerky over the dried shrimp that sometimes accompanies the salad. Overall, while the service was excellent, we were left feeling disappointed that we spent $60 on a meal that required additional seasoning once we got home.

Definitely one of our go-to Thai places. We eat here fairly frequently and are always happy with the food. That said… the service can be extremely slow. The last few times I’ve ordered pick up I’ve shown up about 15 minutes after placing my order and still had to wait 20-25 minutes to get my food. I’ve ordered on grubhub and my driver waited for over 35 minutes to get my order. It’s good food, but maybe not worth the wait if you are hungry or in a hurry
