Jax Cafe - Minneapolis

I attended a dinner as part of a group of about 30 friends/business associates, most of us are from out of town. Jax Cafe has a long history as a fine steak house (I ate at Jax about 10 years ago), and was not disappointed with the quality of the service and food. The service throughout the evening was excellent. When we entered the room, the appetizers included the famous crab roll, and a brie cheese pastry. Both were delicious. I had a Jax Manhattan, prepared perfectly, but passed on the wine. The Cesare salad was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. My fillet was cooked perfectly, and was tender and delicious. The meal was accompanied by perfectly cooked beans, and mashed potatoes. This is a fine steakhouse and I very much enjoyed my meal.

My family and I have been coming to Jax Cafe for over 20 years every year for Mother 's Day. The food is always excellent. The building is absolutely beautiful, especially the back garden. Like always, we went to celebrate Mother 's Day and had brunch at Jax Cafe today. As mentioned, the food is excellent and the server that was cutting the meat today was very friendly and gave kids smaller portions! Also, the gentleman behind the bar gave our kids cheeries as we waited for our table. Both were excellent! My only complaint was that our reservation was at 1:30, we arrived at 1:15 and told the host that we had arrived and that we would be at the bar until our table was available. At 2pm, we went and checked how much longer our wait would be since we did have reservations at 1:30. He said As soon as others leave, your table will be ready and walked away. Whch we were fine waiting, but just wanted to make sure we were not skipped. We were seated at 215 and was told that the table we were supposed to be at, the customers wouldn 't leave. We had a total of 3 waiters and waitresses. At the beginning, they were great, but then we started to notice that we were being watched and if you put your fork down, they 'd be over to ask if you are done. Remind you, we had 8 people with our group and 3 of them were kids. We felt that we had waited an hour for our table and when your paying 60 PER PERSON, you should be able to eat at your own pace, but around 3pm, it was getting even worse, they started peeking around the corner to see if everyone was done. I also witness them getting another table ready for a party of 7 and the waitress asked the host if he was joking and then rolled her eyes. We finally paid at 315pm and they started clearing the table before we even entered the bar area. It had been several years since we attended a holiday brunch. After have dinner there with my five year grandson and his family in February.. Jax’s is his favorite restaurant. I made Easter Brunch reservation. It was a WOW..it’s was the best we have ever had so glad we went. My five year old grandson was so exited to attend he first brunch and Jax’s didn’t disappoint. He loved the bunny who came to the table,however his younger did share the same excitement. We will be back again

Very clean, not too crowded (yet) for celebrating early mother's day on Saturday with jax signature specialized matches. Putting rib and hashbrowns are Excellent I suggest the turtle cheesecake

This was my first visit. I went for brunch with a group of friends. The place sits on the corner of a busy intersection, but there is a (free) parking lot across which was nice. They offer a decent amount things on the menu for brunch, and their drink menu is nice as well. Sadly I was not too impressed with the food. I ordered the prime rib hash, and there was hardly any prime rib in it. The fried green tomatoes were bland, and had this thick breading on them. The servicewas decent, we had a woman named Sheila, and a guy named Mark (I think). They kept the mimosas coming, and checked on us often take sure things were going well. They have an outdoor patio which is beautifully set up! It wasn't the nicestweather so we did not sit outside.
