Famous Dave 's Quick 'que - Minneapolis

This restaurant is more suitable for takeout rather than dining in. I noticed that the online lunch menu offers a wider variety of options at better prices compared to their dine-in menu. Unfortunately, the food quality is not quite at par with what I remember from the previous Famous Dave's style that many of us know. With plenty of other BBQ spots in the area offering higher-quality food at similar prices and more diverse menus, this place has dropped down my list of preferred choices. It’s no longer a go-to for me.

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant since it’s so conveniently close to my home. Today was my boyfriend's birthday, and he chose Famous Dave's for dinner. I placed an order online and went to pick it up. He had a pick 2 combo, while I opted for the pick 1. Unfortunately, they mixed up our sides, so we had to swap them. He mentioned that his chicken was quite fatty. As someone from the South who has grown up on BBQ, I found the food disappointing. My pork was drenched in a strange-tasting BBQ sauce, and the French fries seemed like they had been left out all day. On a positive note, the muffins were good! However, I probably won’t return for a while. The place had more of a fast food vibe rather than that of a restaurant. I hope they can improve!

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening to grab a Beef Brisket Sandwich to go. Unfortunately, the staff appeared quite uninterested and were not very friendly or accommodating. I wasn't offered any silverware, napkins, BBQ sauce, or even a bag for my takeout order. I had to specifically request the BBQ sauce. While the brisket itself was decent, I was disappointed with the portion size of the sides. It seemed like the employee made an effort to give the minimum amount possible.

I stopped here the other day for lunch as I wanted to see what the quick que meant as they moved into a new building. This was really cool because it was like fast food and they had food ready! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food tasted great and they were more than happy to give me extra sauce packets! I would highly recommend stopping here to eat when you are in the area!

Been to many famous daves around the metro and wanted to give this place a shot since i was in the area. I can tell you this stay away from the ribtips, ive never had ribtips from any famous daves this dried out, it looks like they left it out and reheated it just for that 1 lucky customer. Had to throw it all out along with my hard earned money. You guys just opened up gotta do better coonrapids famous daves!
