Taqueria Plancarte - Mineola

I had one meal at this restaurant and it was amazing! I ordered the barbacoa street tacos and they were definitely some of the best, if not the best, I've had. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious meal.

I had four brisket street tacos with double corn tortillas, served with rice and beans and topped with a green and red sauce. My companion had three beef enchiladas with rice, beans, and both green and red sauce. I enjoyed my tacos more than he enjoyed his enchiladas. I would definitely eat here again before dining at Walmart. I would like to try the cheese enchiladas with the rich mole sauce that was on my companion's beef enchiladas instead of the red sauce shown in the menu. I also want to try the tacos al pastor and the barbacoa tacos. There are so many things on the menu that I want to try!

I was thrilled to try this restaurant during my visit to mineola. I called ahead to make sure they have something vegan or at least vegetarian. unfortunately, they have nothing but reis available. hopefully they will have at least one vegan or at least vegetarian entrée available in the future. if I can suggest grilled cactus, grilled vegetables, roasted beans that are not cooked with meat, zucchini/Sequash, broccoli and kartoffels. I would have liked to have had absolutely rice and roasted beans with chili poblanos or nopales, in a piping-hot gordita or on a sope or a ochsensch, or even within a cheerfulness. I can say that the person who answered the phone was a very polite and very apologetic. the customer service was never asked.

Stopped to try because someone recommended, but atmosphere was not all that as soon as you entered. Host didn't seem to friendly and when he saw we had trouble finding menu he didn't help much. Pretty much was there just to take orders I guess. Waitress was nice. Chips and salsa was good and spicy. Tacos were just ok. Very pricey for 8 tacos and 2 drinks. Spent almost $35!! Definitely not coming back for tacos.
