Contribuiți la feedbackMe and my wife went here last week as we had brought a scoopon voucher. The starter of Chicken Tikka was amazing so tasty and juicy I could have just ate that all night, the 2 mains were Lamb Jaalfrezi and Chicken Korma, both of which were very nice, also the rice and nan bread were good. All in all a good place to visit,it's a bit cool inside and some music would be good.
This was our first visit. First impressions the place doesn't look particularly inviting. No decor . Boxes of Coca Cola stacked on the floor. Only one person taking orders at front , in the restaurant and on the phone. It was quiet but still took a long time to take our order. It's byo too. That's the downside. Now to the food. The best curries we have eaten in 7 years of living in Perth. We are from the uk and these curries were very very close to curries we lovecin the uk. We shared chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. They were creamy and delicious so I gave given this review 5 stars based on the curries .
The extensive menu definitely gives a patron a 'true taste of Indian cuisine'. Four of us chose the banquet which included seafood, beef, lamb and chicken dishes together with a selection of rice and breads. The prices are not expensive but the food is beautifully cooked. Service is excellent and helpful. The only downside was the room was quite cold and the food cooled down fast. This is a BYO restaurant but there is no corkage fee - an added bonus! There is lots of parking beside the restaurant which is off the main road. We will return again to try out their exciting Indian dishes.
I'm not normally an 'indian' food fan, and I've tried two or three places around Perth which I have not enjoyed at all. Recently went to Singapore and tried an indian restaurant there which was unbelievably good, so as Salt is not too far from where I live, thought I'd give it one more go. The service was slightly hit & miss. After standing around for a few minutes, we were then approached and told we could sit anywhere we liked. It was quite early, hardly anyone there so we just selected our table. Menu's were a little slow coming to the table too, but to be fair, there was only 1 young girl taking orders and serving, so wasn't too stressed about that. Besides, I'd already studied the menu online, so knew what I was going to order ! There were 3 of us, and we all chose a dish each, plus 1 extra dish of bombay potatoes and garlic naan bread. Food took a little while to come to the table, and just as I was starting to think 'bad mistake', coming here, the food arrived. It was worth the wait ! Dal Makhni, black lentils in tomato gravy with spices and fresh cream were delicious - so thick and creamy; the Dahiwala Murg - chicken with yogurt cooked in cashewnut sauce with fresh mint & coriander was extremely tasty. You could actually taste the nuttiness and the tang of the yogurt. The chef's special Nawabi Chicken cooked in a fried onion, cashew based gravy with garlic saffron, chilli and spices was superb - the absolute winner for me. We also had Jeera Rice (sauteed with cumin seeds, coriander and lemon juice, highly recommended) along with Garlic Naan (flavoured with garlic, coriander and butter). The naan was cooked beautifully, not greasy but extremely tasty. The bombay potatoes cooked with curry leaves, mustard seeds and garlic were also an absolute winner. In my experience, curry dishes generally all seem to taste the same or very similar, but all this dishes tasted unique in their own way, and not overly hot or spicy. I think 4 dishes, rice and naan for the three of us was probably a little too much - we were all pretty full by the end - glad we didn't have an entree ! Would definitely recommend this to anyone and looking forward to trying out the Goat curry next time.
Ok so it's not The Taj Mahal in terms of decor and opulence however for me, it's the food that matters above all else and this was really very good.We had the Groupon deal, a bit tight with the poppadoms, 1 small one each was underwhelming... I'm sure the cost of two each wouldn't bankrupt them.Lamb kofta kebab starter.. enjoyed it, more salad wouldn't go a miss.Lamb madras and chicken tikka masala mains were lovely, tikka especially. Small amounts but perfect for the one meal... not enough to take home as per our 'usual' Indian regular. Garlic nan was exceptional! Beautiful. The staff were just lovely.
