Contribuiți la feedbackGotta love the pizza at Pizza Man. It is unque and it's good to have their special recipe in Milwaukee. After the pizza, things at Puzza man are, well, fine, good enough, sufficient, but without the local "soul" one might expect and/or enjoy. Service, fine. Space, fine. Bar, ok it's fine too. Location is fine. Balance of menu is just fine. Pizza Man is a fine place for a pizza. I'm getting takeout next time in fact.
A must try when in Milwaukee. When of the best restaurants with amazing service. They have some really good offers during the week. Great Ambience Nice Food
UP IN SMOKE - MEPHISTOPHELES WINS As I grow older, memories become vivid, and what was once just a past remembrance, becomes washed by nostalgia. The Pizza Man I recall was a dark, 1970s style dive, with decor that needed renovation the day after it opened. The pizza was okay, but the wine list might have been the best in Milwaukee. I ate the pizza to drink the wine. When friends suggested Pizza Man last Friday night on my visit back to Milwaukee, I was ready for Oakland and North. No, it's now on Downer after the fire. Downer Avenue, home of the Coffee Trader and JJD's? What fire? Life moves on and places change in spite of the memories we want to hold on to. Pizza Man is now suburban slick, with a big bar, seating, and decor that would make Pizza Man fit well in any strip mall in any city in America and sadly, even beyond our shores. Corporate ambiance has no bounds. The fire took Pizza Man's soul. Mephistopheles is the victor. The pizza does taste good, the service is fine, and the bar is fun. Yet, I will always root against generic and hope Joe Hardy always plays center field for the Washington Senators. "You gotta have heart," and the Devil can't always own the soul. Nostalgia applauds the Pizza Man of lore and bemoans the Pizza Man of today.

If I were the kind of person who actually wrote a food blog instead of just eating out a lot and casually Yelping, I would write it about dining alone.
