Hubby took us out for our 14th wedding anniversary. 1st time here. We have been searching for this exact type of restaurant and we finally found it! Old school Italian atmosphere is hard to find. Loved it. Olivia was our server and she was delightful. We found the Italian bread and garlic olive oil super yummy. We ordered the Caesar salad. Delicious but a little different than usual . I tasted a hint of dill. Bruschetta was perfect! Bolognase ... Bravo! Hubby had fettuccine alfredo and loved it. The homemade lemoncello was also on point. Made me feel at home. The owner, Peter, stopped by the table and asked how everything was. Music playing in the background was also perfect. Thank you for a wonderful night! We will be back!
The wait staff brought our bread and utensils and informed us about the half-price wine special. However, we had to ask for the wine menu as it was not provided. The bread was not served warm and there were fewer mussels compared to a previous visit on a Saturday night. The sauce was also not as flavorful. I accidentally spilled Parmesan cheese and the table was wet from the mussels, but no one came to clean it up after I alerted the wait staff. My husband's Conca D'Oro dish was good but not as exceptional as when he had ordered it previously. We wondered who the chef was that evening, as it was not the usual one.
We recently discovered Carini's this winter and it has quickly become one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the state. The service is fantastic, especially Santo who was exceptional during our last visit. The food is outstanding, particularly the pizza, spiedini, and penne ala vodka. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the owners are always present, making it feel very welcoming. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic! The pizza was the best I've ever had, and I also tried a shrimp pasta dish with a delicious white sauce. The owner even came over to chat with us, and his story is really interesting. The atmosphere and food were very authentic.
