4th Base - Milwaukee

Wow, the food was bursting with flavor! At first, the atmosphere made me feel a bit out of place, and I even considered leaving. But I'm so glad I decided to stay. The chef was incredibly charismatic and offered great recommendations on what to order. The Hangover burger was absolutely incredible! They even prepared a pasta dish for me that wasn’t on the menu. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning!

The open-concept kitchen really excited our friends from the Oshkosh area, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. When I mentioned this, all the other dining options I had suggested were promptly dismissed. The birthday girl chose 4th Base, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The rave reviews about the atmosphere, drinks, and food are absolutely spot on! Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including shaved beef skillets (which were my choice and another guest's), and they were outstanding! We also tried crab-stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon, crab eggs benedict, a steak, seafood omelette, and Texas French toast. Everything was perfectly seasoned and incredibly flavorful—everyone is eager to return! There were a couple of areas for improvement, though. One of our orders never made it to the kitchen, but they quickly corrected it and were very apologetic. The French toast initially arrived just as toast, but they fixed that promptly. It also took our server nearly 30 minutes to calculate our bill, partly because the open kitchen doesn’t have a set menu with prices, but she was new to the job. We forgot to mention that we wanted our bills split into three before ordering, which added to the delay. However, this did not detract from our overall experience. We were patient, and it didn’t hold us up too much. We are completely hooked and will be recommending 4th Base to everyone!

After moving to Milwaukee, we discovered this restaurant because of its connection to a movie. We looked at the website and were a bit perplexed by the menu/non-menu concept. After deciding to give it a try, we realized just how much we had been missing out! We absolutely loved our visit and enjoyed the ability to choose every item of our meal and have it prepared exactly how we wanted. It felt like hanging out with a friend who has the coolest garage bar, along with a talented chef who can whip up whatever you desire. Every dish we tried made us say, “Wow, that was amazing!” The staff was exceptional, especially our bartender Erin, who was fantastic. The other patrons were great too, making for a wonderful experience. This place is definitely one of the coolest spots in the area!

WAY!! overpriced. ala carte no prices in a dive bar. My meal was $89.00. Not even close to worth it! Beers were $6 for tappers that at any other good bare are $4 to $5 tops. Food was good but not even close to worth it.

Just be aware, no one here wears masks; not the bartender, server or chef. No social distancing of tables either. If you are okay with that you will enjoy your experience. If you are not, I do not recommend you go as the operations will make you uncomfortable.
