East Ocean Peking And Cantonese Food Take Away

I used to love this Chinese restaurant, but was completely disappointed during our visit last Thursday evening. The restaurant was empty, so I was expecting high-quality food. However, the dishes were bland and lacked flavor. Even the rice tasted like plain water. I was extremely disappointed and do not want to waste another £40 there. I will not be returning.

We ordered four different dishes and, unfortunately, none of them had any flavor. The service was nice and friendly, but the food just didn't meet our expectations. One family member even said it was the worst Chinese takeout they had ever had.

We used to dine at this restaurant often as the food was excellent. However, we were often disappointed with the wait times for collection. Despite giving us a specific time, we always ended up waiting an extra 15-20 minutes. It's puzzling why they don't offer a delivery service like other restaurants. Recently, we tried ordering from another restaurant (Just Eat) called Old China, but the food was not up to par. We only ordered from there because they delivered. East Ocean, please consider offering delivery services to improve customer experience!

Well what a shame , after a bad take a way last time thought we would give it another chance , unfortunately my meal crispy beef was full of sugar , tasted like , candy floss ! And the chop suey was just bamboo shoots , wasn’t good either . My husband’s chow main was o k ! Won’t be going back !!!...

What started out well, with a friendly and polite young man behind the counter turned into disappointment with less than satisfactory food and poor customer service when I called back about it. We only ordered Crispy Chill Beef, Plain Chow Mein, Egg Fried Rice and crispy Seaweed which came to £17.50 more expensive than any of our regular Chinese takeaways. The Chilli Beef (the main of the meal) was dry on top and almost completely congealed in crystallised sugar at the bottom when we tried to stir it through. I understand it is a sweet syrupy sauce but this was solid unlike any I’ve seen before. So much so I called back to complain to be told I’d have to bring it back, when I had pictures and clearly wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. The young guy was apologetic but just kept saying chef says you’ll have to bring it back, when the remanence of our dinner would then have been totally cold. Agreed to bring it back tomorrow, which is just nuts for the sake of their customer service, what’s the point. Only went here because our regular was closed, won’t be going again. Very disappointing. Imperial Garden is much better.
