I had supper this evening at Kelsey's (401/Highway 25). There is a bar area.

First off, there's parking. Lots of it. Close to the 401 with just a couple of turns off the ramp.Second, we were greeted and seated cheerfully quickly - this place has lots of little nooks and corners, upstairs, downstairs, around the corner, and every place else.Third, the menu is extensive.Fourth, the food is really great.Fifth, the service was right on the mark, cheerful, pleasant, and quick.Only drawback? It was a bit noisier than my increasingly elderly (?) ears prefer. Might want to dial the music back a shade and put in some noise dampening items - curtains, etc. But then... it's a roadhouse!

I've always enjoyed Kelsey's and have visited many locations in many different cities during my travels but this is the first location to ever disappoint. My server brought my drink... but then 'forgot' that I was sat there in plain view and later cited my seat as not being 'in their normal section' as the reason, furthermore the restaurant was cold - and even after another member of staff promptly switched off an overhead fan when requested - I still had to put my jacket on to be able eat my meal in comfort.When my food order did arrive... the fish was overcooked and the chips were already cool (not cold but certainly not hot) and I was seriously weighing up leaving and going elsewhere just as the meal finally arrived. Furthermore - if the tardy service and poor food were not reason enough to ensure that I will not return - a over loud and poorly amplified 'beat poet' competition started up in an overhead (private/reserved?) bar area and that really was the final straw, I ate and as much as work will bring me back here often - I most certainly will not be repeating the Kelsey;s Milton mistake.
