Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Milford

The cleanliness of the place was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a young lady in a mask who promptly informed us that they had stopped serving food for the night. Fortunately, we were only interested in trying the smoothies. Shortly after, another employee (without a mask) joined her and started playing some loud, obnoxious music from her phone at full volume. The music was momentarily interrupted when she received a call which she needed to take before continuing with our orders. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the smoothies for the price; I’ve paid more for smaller sizes at Robex, another smoothie spot in Connecticut. I had no complaints about the taste of my smoothie. However, on the drive home, my wife took a couple of sips of hers and remarked that it tasted like ice and water with no flavor at all. I sampled it too and had to agree—it tasted a bit like muddy water. In summary, there wasn’t anything particularly tropical about this place. I appreciated the price and the size of my smoothie, but unfortunately, I had to discard my wife's drink. I think someone should introduce the employee playing the loud music to some headphones; not everyone enjoys the same taste in tunes. I felt sorry for the other staff member who had to endure that noise for the entirety of her shift. While I liked the price, size, and taste of my smoothie, this might be my first and last visit to this establishment.

I waited 35 minutes just to be noticed, and after finally placing my order and paying, it took another 20 minutes to receive a disappointing smoothie that tasted like water. The staff was inattentive and had a bad attitude, clearly more focused on online orders than on the nine customers standing there waiting to order. Even after my order was completed, I had to wait an additional 20 minutes, as they placed my smoothies on the shelf as if they were for delivery, despite my tag clearly stating “TO GO.” I wasted an entire hour of my life for two poorly made smoothies. I highly recommend going to Smoothie King or Jamba Juice, just half a mile down the road. The prices are similar, but the customer service and speed of service are far better!

The food is quite decent, but the service could use some improvement. A young staff member with curly hair had a bit of an attitude on the phone while I was placing my order. I was informed that my food would be ready upon my arrival, but when I got there, nothing was prepared. They really need to enhance their service.

Ordered flatbread sandwich, salad, side and smoothie. The sandwich was fine, filling, not too many calories and affordable, salad was mid, they forgot the dressing and utensils, side salad was just chunky coleslaw, wish it was shredded. gf liked the smoothie. food was fine but this location is unprofessional, inconsistent and noisy. 3 stars.

Just a fantastic experience and amazing food. The smoothies are A Not that expensive and I can't get enough of their staff !!! I go there a few times a week ! You will not be disappointed !
