Cider Tree Ale House and Kitchen

Have eaten at the Cider tree a few times and have found that when you are in a larger group the service is slow. On 2 occasions I have been with a group of around 12 people and our meals take more than an hour to come out. The meals have been lovely just take a little long to come out

I didn't have high expectations for dinner at The Cider Tree since I knew it turned into a bit of a nightclub after dark. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well my fish was cooked. Another great thing about this place is the variety of beers they offer on tap and in bottles. I was able to enjoy these while cheering on my favorite team, the Melbourne Storm, as they defeated the New Zealand Warriors on the big screen.

We were at the restaurant this afternoon and waited at the bar for 10 minutes. There was a young man working there, but he did not come over to serve us. As a result, we decided to take our business elsewhere.

We booked for The Cider Tree when my family were staying in Mildura. When we walked in we were immediately hit with quite a stale smell. We walked down to the restaurant section and no staff members were there, we waited a little while and saw nobody. The restaurant was empty with one table reserved for 8 so we assumed that was ours with no one there to greet us. When somebody did come out they seemed a little annoyed that we had sat ourselves, but there had been nobody there to ask?No staff member came over to take our food order so we assumed you ordered at the bar, then were told that someone would come over. The meals were hit and miss. I actually really enjoyed mine (main size serve of Arancini balls). My father in law and a friend of ours got the pork belly which was nice but the meal was too small and both left hungry, it only came with a sauce and mashed potato that was quite runny so almost like a second sauce. No other sides included. My partner got a steak which was cooked medium-rare as he asked but the quality of the meat was not good so it wasn't enjoyable. My sister got risotto (chorizo and fetta) from the specials board which was so salty she couldn't eat it. Pretty disappointed overall, seems like a cool place to go for a drink with friends but I'd skip it for food.

Called in without booking, they happily accommodated six of us. Good choice of meals, slightly higher price but they were very delicious and well presented. Staff were friendly.
