Self Service Chery - Milano

We're avoiding fancy places in the gallery and ended up in this small small bar of typical Italian bar tradition. Family atmosphere, great serving excellent spritz and top bartender! Cheers

If you're at the Galleria, or touring the Duomo and it's time for lunch. Before you consider the numerous touristy restaurants that fill the piazza or side streets, take the time to find Self Service Chery. On a side street just next to Tod's at the west entrance of the Galleria. You enter through a take out bar called Cheri and walk up the stairs. It's cafeteria style, but everything is made that day in their small kitchen. The day I was there there were 3 pastas to choose from, a beautifully rare beef roast, baked chicken and an array of salads. I and the tagliatelle with baby octopus. OK, it's not a fine restaurant with starched line, but it's great home cooked food, so much less than what you're going to pay at the tourist traps outside and it's quick. Full of local Milanese who know where to go, not a tourist in sight. They're all in the Galleria paying 5 times as much for so much less than what you'll have.

The Chery Bar is an excellent quick and easy choice for lunchtime in downtime Milano. I especially recommend the half baguette with ham, mozarella and omelette ideal with a draft beer all for only € 6.50 seated in the warm and comfortable ambiente of this simple bar. A good choice for lunch in an ordinary day ... in the upper part of the restaurant, there 's a full fledged self service canteen like restaurant. Also a good option, it only takes a bit longer...

Il chery è sempre una certezza quando sei al centro all'ora di pranzo. al piano superiore si trova il ristorante dove è possibile acquistare piatti unici al prezzo di 10 euro (compreso primo, secondo e contorno,) primi piatti o bis di primo. il ristorante offre anche insalata e dolci. il locale è anche moderatamente spaziosa se si considera che si trova praticamente nella galleria.
