One should never have too high a expectations eating in a franchise cafe in a food court in a shopping mall. But this experience shows why this sort of catering just dumbs down amazing vibrant gastronomies like that of Thailand. I ordered a beef Pad Thai without bothering to look at the menu, because it's a simple iconic dish, with not much fuss to it. The waitress asked me if I wanted it with noodles! Well what else would it come with? And this was my mistake. Because if I'd looked at the menu it gave you the option of wheat chowmein style noodles, or the proper flat rice noodles you would always get in Thailand. Well duuuhhhh! Who would have thunk one would actually have to specify. Pad Thai isn't made with fine wheat noodles, period. so I get a dish called Pad Thai, which is basically a big bowl of noodles, onions, some beef and a bit of indistinct vegetables, wazzed around a wok in an identikit stir-fry sauce that came out of some bottle. no egg, no bittersweet tamarind flavours, no cashews, just a kind of run of the mill pan-asian piece of anonymity. It was fine within it's own limitations, but Pad Thai it most certainly was not. Be careful what you ask for!
This was the first and last time I willhave a take away from this place, the food was very overpriced and when I returned home the order was wrong. The did send a replacement but this took a while and meant the rest was cold. I would avoid this unless you are eating in
Best Pad Thai food ive ever had. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the fuengirola area.
Had a spicy beef and chicken thin noodles box. Enough for 2 oldies to have for a late night treat. Delicious. Will be back.
